About Me
Wendy Pierre
Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, I trained at the John S. Donaldson Tech Institute in Home Economics. I also attended Tech Teachers Training College in Tobago. I taught Home Economics (Dressmaking and Design, Food & Nutrition) at a high school for 23 years.
I have been a custom dressmaker/designer for over 30 years. I have designed and made clothing for beauty pageants, weddings, (both traditional and African), staged several fashion shows in Trinidad, supplied garments for local boutiques and designed a gown for the President’s Inaugural Ball here in the United States.
I have resided in Atlanta for the past five years. I migrated to the United States in 2000. Before coming to Atlanta, I lived in New York then Boston where I helped organize a fashion show at my church in Boston, which featured fashion through the years and again at my church in Atlanta.
I have a passion for designing and making special occasion gowns, resort wear, hand-painted garments and couture style clothing. I love helping young designers realize their dreams of launching their first line by offering pattern making and sewing services at competitive prices. My current project is working on producing a line of garments made from organic silks, cotton soy and bamboo, in an effort to support a green environment.
The name of my business,”Quantum3Design” was coined from the names of three people who inspired me to keep my dream alive: My two sons QU (Quincy), ANT (Anton) and my mother, UM (Unallia McCledan) who was an awesome dressmaker (now deceased). Quantum suggests a LEAP of faith into the future!
